Such seat cabin design is usually seen on robots with TX guns, especially mechs and helicopters, whose functional parts are large and cost high amount of CPU, leaving too few CPU for armor to protect things other than seat. Side mount gun was removed because the war behemoth is wide and turns really slow. There is no leg mount drop because of the lack of CPU, so it has mech's old problem of downward clearance. A strange swing on the pitch angle that happens when starting and stopping makes things worse.
